Horizon: Zero Dawn is one of the titles that made PS4 famous. With its atypical universe, it has aroused the curiosity of many players. The main plot is rather successful with a suspense that lasts until the conclusion. You will follow two red threads: one more down-to-earth linked to the tribes and the other linked to the machines that surround you. As a bonus, the side quests are well done, like a Witcher 3 . As you will have understood, discovery is one of the key elements. The whole delivers a hell of a visual slap marked by magnificent panoramas, animal design machines and the exploitation of the capabilities of the PS4 Pro(HDR and 4K). As with any RPG worth its salt, you’ll need to upgrade your gear and skills, while setting the stage for taking on your fearsome enemies.

Hear about the adventures of Cody and May, a couple in dire straits who have been turned into dolls. Their objective ? Save their couple and regain a normal size, at the same time.

Like “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids”, It Takes Two transforms you into miniature dolls that will have to venture into a life-size house. This cute universe with neat artistic direction is highlighted by a good number of characters all more colorful than the others who mark out your adventure in addition to bringing their share of humor. They also allow to bring dynamism to this fairly simple scenario, marked by emotion and divided into 7 chapters. This course is intended for both amateurs and regulars with sufficient difficulty while remaining contained. On the gameplay side, we move smoothly from platform phases to rail-shooting or even hack’n’slash, which avoids any feeling of weariness without breaking the rhythm. It Takes Two has an additional advantage:

The license is making a comeback after 4 years of absence! With a very good quality title, Insomniac Games offers its own interpretation of our dear weaver. The game uses the codes of role-playing games with a main quest surrounded by side quests and collectibles. On the other hand, here, each element has its own reason to exist, whether it is to develop our capacities and our equipment or to discover another facet of the character. This operation is served by a careful staging, which brings a cinematographic note, both through Spidey’s movements and through the framing. On the gameplay side, we finally feel the contribution of the studio’s previous titles, the Batman Arkhams. The fights are based on dodging and parries to offer a good level of dynamism while requiring a certain mastery. It has never been so enjoyable to play as our neighborhood spider.

Unanimously considered a masterpiece of the video game, this eighth episode of the Hack’n’Slash series has been a great success. Without ever denying its origins, this opus has completely reinvented itself. This time, rather than a story of gods, it is the human side of Kratos that is explored, as he becomes a dad. But rest assured, with the many clashes that punctuate your journey, you will always find the charismatic Kratos with legendary violence. The presence of his son by his side blows a breeze of freshness by bringing a touch of emotion in this world where brutal fights and monsters are omnipresent. But be careful, he is not just a foil and will actively help you during your confrontations! We enjoyed the beauty of the graphics,

Nathan Drake had decided to hang up his crampons… Until the arrival of his brother, Sam. Together, they go in search of the missing treasure of Henry Avery, famous pirate of the end of the 17th century.

This latest game effectively ends the saga with a mastered epilogue. The studio benefits from its experience on The Last of Usto bring depth to the whole while retaining the light tone of the original playing. Served by a technical and artistic quality of high flight, it remains at the level of current standards. Its compelling animations and modeling, combined with the careful lighting effects deliver a stunning result, both for displaying explosions and for focusing on the characters. On the gameplay side, we notice that the whole is more varied, without rejecting its origins. Thus, if the frontal approach remains a possibility, it is no longer mandatory and stealth becomes an alternative. As a bonus, Naughty Dog adds two elements absent from previous episodes: a grapple, which allows phases of climbing and puzzles, and phases of driving, allowing to discover this saga in a new light.

Sekiro : Shadows Die Twice

Sekiro : Shadows Die Twice

Play as Wolf, a samurai equipped with a prosthesis, and go in search of the lord you have sworn to protect. To redeem your honor, you will need to find out who is responsible for its demise.

Successor of Souls and the excellent Bloodborne , Sekiro plunges into the world of the Shinobis by drawing inspiration from mythical games such as Tenchuwhile retaining the difficulty characteristic of From Software titles. In this title, finesse is the key word. It is therefore necessary to master the art of parry while taking advantage of perfect timing in order to exploit the weaknesses of your enemy. This technicality allows you to feel an impression of total control of the character. The difficulty is particularly high but various systems help you in your progress, such as stealth or instant resurrection (up to two times). In terms of atmosphere, you travel through the lands of medieval Japan, victim of internal wars. The superb sets and the successful artistic direction pay homage to the complexity of this title. The great freedom of exploration, leaves you, in addition, the possibility of visiting the surroundings… And of preparing your various approaches.

Take a behind-the-scenes look at F1 and experience the excitement of the Grand Prix from the front row as you follow a driver on his way from F2 to the premier class.

This new iteration of the license intends to refine the genre by integrating some well-felt new features. First of all, the 2021 version marks the return of the Story mode, which invites you to follow a driver as he goes from F2 to F1 while discovering the behind the scenes of this particular universe. This mode coexists with a more classic career which can this time be played in cooperation, either as teammates or as opponents. Unfortunately, it is impossible to enjoy it locally as a duo. Then, the graphic aspect is impeccable with a careful modeling of the circuits, the pilots but also of the single-seaters, faithful to reality thanks to the acquisition of the official licenses. We can just notice a few drops in framerate during slow motion. The gameplay, for its part, delivers impeccable sensations.

Guilty Gear Strive

Guilty Gear Strive

This historic license of the fighting game marks its comeback in this new opus which is intended to be more affordable for neophytes while retaining its unwinding aspect that appeals to fans so much.

This fighting game is designed to impress you while allowing you to let off steam. The particular graphic style consists of a 2D look based on 3D models. The artistic direction is totally in alchemy with this very particular design. However, we can blame it for less readability when the action is loaded. The gameplay opts for the principle of “Airdashers”, like titles like Dragon Ball with both land and air combat. However, it remains more affordable than the previous opus thanks to simplified combos. The title consists of classic modes to which we add a dojo mode. It is divided into three parts: Training, Tutorial (to learn the basics) and Mission, which requires performing certain specific combos during the 120 tests offered.

Chivalry 2

Chivalry 2

This title offers you to dive into medieval battlefields, in first or third person, by playing one of the fighters existing at the time.

The formula for this medieval combat title is simple: you play as a proud warrior and participate in scripted confrontations on maps with a worked atmosphere, where every detail counts. The gameplay is thought to be affordable for everyone with a combo of three attacks, which can be light or heavy, a special strike and some skills. Of course, the most addicted will be able to discover other subtleties. Humor is an essential component of this title. It is particularly noticeable in the fact of being able to launch and pick up any weapon from the battlefield (which can result in confrontations… original) or even the possibility of launching a battle cry with each action. We can blame it for a little light content but it should be extended in future updates.

BUYING GUIDE

Choosing a video game based on its cover is far from being an efficient technique. Fortunately, with the advent of the internet, testing is much more accessible and it is much easier not to be fooled by a pretty picture.

However, between the reviews of testers and players, there can be huge differences. We have therefore decided to take into account the opinions of both parties based on the Metacritic and Senscritique sites.

We also considered in the equation the average of our reference sites in terms of gaming, namely: Jeuxvideo.com, Gamekult, IGN and Gameblog.

Once we collected all these values, we calculated an overall average while analyzing the main reviews that had been made on each title in order to present you the best games of the moment.

NB: if you are (on) a fan of video games and do not have a favorite platform, we also invite you to consult our selection of the best games Xbox One , games Switch , PC games , and PSVR games .
