Best 1000R Super Curved Monitors: Differences Between 1000R vs 1800R

You didn’t even know you needed them … sure. They are the 1000R super curved monitors, the most immersive curved screen monitors of the moment, perfect for gaming and for working in the office. What is the difference between the curvature of a 1000R vs 1800R monitor?
And the blame goes back to Samsung, which, at CES 2020, launched the Samsung Odyssey G9 and G7 models. The Odyssey G9 monitor is simply spectacular … 49 ā³ monitor with 32: 9 format and a 1000R curvature, much greater than the already known 1800R.
Before we get to see which are the best 1000R monitors of the moment, it is necessary to explain what a monitor with such a tremendous curvature gives us⦠Right?
What does it mean for a monitor to have a 1000R curvature? Monitor curvature 1000R vs 1800R vs 1500R
Best to see a couple of images first (thanks to Samsung):

Or maybe this helps a little more to see the differences between 1800R and 1000R:

The “R” stands for Radius, and 1000 means 1000 millimeters (and 1800 millimeters in the other case). Translation? If the monitor were a complete circle we would have a radius of 1000 mm or 1 meter. The smaller this number is, the more curved the monitor will be. The step from 1800R to 1000R is quite significant. In between we have the 1500R curved monitors.
What does it mean to have this curvature? What are you going to have to be at a certain distance from the monitor to be able to see the image well: 1 meter to see it in all its splendor, and possibly put a support in its lower part that supports the size of the monitor, 49 ā³ and the curvature.
This spectacular curvature also implies that by equaling the Field of View (FoV) or Field of View of the human eye, the immersion in the image is total. Visual fatigue is also reduced, which will come in handy for all those who want to use this type of monitor in office work (and not just for gaming).
They also improve the representation of blacks (deeper) and are able to reduce the unpleasant glare present in other flat screen monitors.
And one important thing for those of you with neck problems: you won’t have to turn your head to see the entire screen thanks to its incredible curvature. An added bonus for people with back pain.
If you need a 49 ā³ ultrawide monitor, in the following post we have recommended a few, even a few curved ones:

A monitor with 1800R and very good options such as MultiView or Picture By Picture, very good USB connectivity, built-in stereo speakers (5W), VESA support and even factory calibration table included.
The only drawbacks that can be put is that its energy efficiency is B and that the use of the KVM (keyboard, video and mouse switching) for use when the screen is connected to two PCs is not easy.
It is a perfect monitor to work and have all your screens controlled and in sight.
Who are you recommending the beautiful super curved 1000Rs for?
Clearly for gamers who want to literally get into their games and possibly for people who do office work, you have to open a lot of windows and want to avoid tired eyes if you spend a lot of time in front of the computer screen.
To use a 1000R super curved monitor you are going to need a certain period of adaptation, but then you are just going to be glad you bought one. The improvement was already noticeable with 1800R, so imagine with 1000R. We have the intermediate point at 1500R.
You also have to take into account, with the 49 ā³ model, that you have to have a good desk to put it on. As it has such a steep curve, you are going to need a fairly large table (with a good bottom), and if you want to put it on a stand, you are going to need a fairly solid one: its weight is quite high.
